 Dear Members
We are delighted to invite you to join us on the 11th March at midday as we welcome our newest members to the Yacht Club. These two individuals, Andy Purvis and Stuart Hatcher, are taking on quite an incredible challenge as they will be rowing the Atlantic Ocean in December 2023. They are not the first Atlantic rowers from the club but they are the latest intrepid sportsmen taking on this challenge with over 60 days at sea, rowing over 3000 miles in the most challenging conditions.
Their boat “Oar Mighty Mates” will be at the Yacht Club until October when it leaves to journey its way (by road and boat!) to the start of the race on the 12th December 2023. Throughout the season they will be training from the club.
Andy and Stuart are rowing in aid of both national and local Dementia charities and we’re incredibly proud to have them join our club. It is an honour to have them on board and to support them in their venture.
