Autumn Series 2024 Sundays 20, 27 October, 3, 10, 17 November. 2024 Autumn Series
Racers 2025 Planning Meeting – was held on Sunday 3 November 2024 in the MYC Library.at 14:00 after the Autumn Series third race. All were welcome to put in their ideas to have a great season with lots more participants. Meeting Agenda
In 2025 results will continue to be calculated using IRC and YTC handicaps where provided by competitors. A significant outcome of the meeting was that in 2025 boats will also be able race using NHC type local handicaps allocated by the Club which will be adjusted by the Club depending on the performance in races. This means that boats will be able to participate without first obtaining a YTC handicap. Meeting Notes & Actions
2025 Events
Here is the provisional 2025 Medway Yacht Club, MYC, Cruiser Racing Programme plus races of other clubs that MYC boats usually compete in:
Spring Series 2025 – Sundays 13, 27 April, 4, 11, 18 of May. This Series will be open to boats with YTC and IRC handicaps. In addition it will be open to boats using NHC type handicaps issued by the Club. These NHC handicaps will be adjusted after each race depending on how boats perform eliminating as far as possible tidal effects. For more information see the web page for 2025 Spring Series
Wednesday Evenings Series 2025 – First Series 28 May, 4, 11, 18, 25 June – Second Series 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 July. Starts will at 18:50 for sailing dinghies and 19:00 for keel boats.
These series will be open to keel boats with YTC handicaps and to boats with NHC handicaps issued by the Club. The NHC handicaps will be adjusted after each race depending on how boats perform. This means that keel boats can turn up at the pontoon by about 18:30 complete the paperwork and can race with a NHC type handicap issued by the Club.
Crew can turn up on the MYC pontoon at about 18:30 and there is almost certainly a boat which wants crew.

Medway Keelboat Regatta 2025 – The dates for the 2025 Regatta are Friday 13 to Sunday 15 June. MYC Regatta 2025. Here is the page for 2024 MYC Regatta
Benfleet Yacht Club Nore Race 2025 – This will be on Saturday 21 June. This is a good race for MYC members to join. High tide Upnor is 9:30 which helps MYC boats go down with the tide to Southend for the start around 11:00 and return back to MYC after the race, helped by the incoming tide. Last year, and the year before, the cruiser class race was won by MYC boats out of a fleet of 50 boats. The Club asked me to mention that the race is also open to dinghies. Ramsgate Regatta 2025 will be run by Royal Temple Yacht Club from Sunday 20 to Friday 25 July. Sunday 20 is the Round the Goodwins race. Monday to Friday are the various class series with the Friday races being the Gold Cup races. Ramsgate Regatta
Marathon Race – Sunday 3 August for sailing dinghies with cruisers acting as guard boats.
Commodore’s Day some might like to help celebrate this on Saturday 9 August. It is not a race

Burton Series 2025 This is hosted by Medway Cruising Club (MCC). We are in discussion with the MCC on the dates and the interface with our Autumn Series. This will be run from the MCC line at Gillingham in September. The 2024 dates were Sunday 15, Saturday 28, Sunday 29 and in October on Saturday 12, Sunday 13, Saturday 19. Medway Cruising Club
