RYA First Aid Course

Length of course: 1 day
Timings: 9am – 5pm
Location: Medway Yacht Club, Lower Upnor, Rochester, Kent, ME2 4XB

Who should do this course?
The one-day course covers all the usual first aid subjects, but from a boating perspective. It is
aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on cross
channel passages. This course is MCA approved and satisfies the requirements for Coastal
Skipper Yachtmaster and Advanced Powerboat certificates of competence and some
commercial work afloat.
So in summary it is useful for anyone who is going on the water. The RYA guidance is that
any powerboat helm and crews are first aid competent. It is also a useful skill if you are a day
sailor.
