Keelboat Regatta

The Medway Yacht Club looks forward to hosting and welcoming members and visitors to the 2025 Medway Yacht Club Keel Boat Regatta.

Our regatta is a relaxed event offering three classes of handicap racing for cruisers plus one design racing for Dragons, Sonatas and Squibs. All races start and finish from committee boats in the River Medway or the Thames Estuary apart from the Squibs who will use the normal club line.
The Regatta starts off on the Friday evening with a practice race. The race will start and finish at the MYC line and will be sailed under the YTC handicap system. Prizes will be presented in the clubhouse after the race. The galley and bar will be open for post-race refreshments.
The Regatta points series starts on Saturday morning. There will be committee boat starts down river on both days and all communication will be by VHF radio and/or WhatsApp. Please ensure you advise the committee of your mobile contact number when completing the regatta entry form. Communication will also be made by the on-line notice board located at www.medwayyachtclub.com. For further information please refer to the Regatta NOR.
Any changes to the schedule will be advised by the on-line notice board.
The race committee look forward to seeing as many boats as possible over the Regatta weekend, enjoying the sailing on our wonderful River Medway and the onshore festivities.
Cruisers
The Cruisers will be racing under the YTC/IRC handicap system. It is intended that they will have a maximum of three races, two on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Squibs
The Squib class will also be taking part in the regatta and will have a maximum of three races over the weekend starting and finishing at the club line.
Dragons
The Dragons will have windward/leeward courses. It is intended that they will have a maximum of six races, four on Saturday and two races on Sunday.
Sonatas
The Sonatas will have windward/leeward courses. It is intended that they will have a maximum of six races, four on Saturday and two races on Sunday.
Shoreside
For the early birds there will be the normal Practice Race on Friday Evening followed by ‘Après Sail’.
Galley & Bar
Our Galley Restaurant and Dragon Bar will be open throughout the event, serving a variety of snacks and meals from our local suppliers.
Everyone is welcome on Sunday as we open our doors to the public during the day only.
Breakfast
Saturday & Sunday from 7.30am-11am – buffet style breakfast offer, no pre-booking required.
Meal deal – over the counter
Enjoy a sandwich, packet of crisps, a chocolate or piece of fruit for £5.50. Subject to availability. Please inform us if you have any allergies when ordering.
Friday 13th June from 7pm
Evening meal – Booking required, £15.00 per person.
Fish Pie, Vegetarian lasagne or Meat Lasagne served from the counter with Wedges, Mixed Salad & Garlic Bread.
Saturday 14th June from 6pm
Booking required, £25.00 per person.
Back by popular demand, Live music from ‘Beer Pressure’.
Food service from 7pm Paella and Mediterranean Buffet.
Sunday 15th June
Prize giving & Hog Roast – Time to be announced closed to the time.
From 3pm – Hog Roast & mixed salad £14.50 per person.
